Post Adoption Resources

A family centered, strength based, therapeutic program provided as an alternative to out of home placement.

Therapeutic services for adopted children and their families can be accessed through several funding streams and vary in scope and level of treatment.

Schools/Special Education

This program provides mental health services to Special Education students who have significant mood/behavioral problems impacting their education performance and require clinical intervention in order to be successful at school.

Adoption Support Groups

Please call each group before attending to make sure that schedule changes have not occurred. Meeting times may change during holiday weeks as well.

Online Adoption Support Groups Adoptive Families Together (aftlist)- Online Discussion Group: Moderated online group provides parents with a 24-hour support forum, focusing on children with challenging behaviors and complex needs. Parents use the online group to seek information, share stories, gain and offer support. The group's knowledgeable and experienced parents are especially helpful to newly forming families. EMQ Families First Permanency Group for pre and post adoptive parents and parents who are providing other forms of permanency (guardianship or kin care): The group is designed to support families in the process of adoption or who have adopted, connect families with other families, and to share experiences and resources.
